Some wore sandals, and some wore shorts. Some came directly from Starbucks. About 550 teachers Loudoun County Public School back to school in Stone Bridge High School on June 22 in connection with interactive white boards (IWBs) to be in every classroom in the county K-12 this fall.
Promethean (trade name) whiteboards are the latest electronic innovation for schools. They combine video, audio, text and real-time calculations in a piece of heavy equipment that can click on Power Point under the bus.
LCPS does an IWB in every classroom and is "making a crisis" to have them installed when school starts in August, said Lynn McNally, LCPS technical resources supervisor. Almost 60 per cent of primary classes and all middle and high schools are already equipped with IWBs, McNally said. From new plates 838, 481 will be installed at the kindergarten, first, second, third and fourth grade class who do have now.
