Getting audio from an HDMI dvd player connected to a DVI television?

Q: I have a DVI input on my HDTV, but my DVD player is HDMI.

Am I basically stuck with having to run an optical link to my stereo to get any audio?

I know the DVI input on the HDTV won't transmit the audio coming from the HDMI output on the DVD player,

A: Try using the component video out of the DVD player to the HDTV. And then use regular analog audio (left/right rcas) from the DVD player to the HDTV.

I know you probably want to use the DVI 'cause it's digital, etc., but the component video does transmit the 480p coming out of the DVD player and your picture quality should be just as
